




















Water is scarce. Animals are dying of thirst and families continue to travel out further and further for the nearest source of water. People’s health conditions are deteriorating due to severe malnourishment as well as a rise in cases of cholera and measles. The United Nations estimates that as many as 6.2 million people out of a population of 12.3 million are in dire need of humanitarian assistance. As the drought continues, international community and diaspora will need to scale up their efforts to help people if they are to survive.
